Kevin Downswell, Jamaica

Kevin Downswell is a Jamaican-born Gospel recording artiste, who discovered he could really sing at age 13. His ministry was launched when, in 2003, he won the JCDC Gospel Festival Competition with the song “Praise”. A true worshipper whether he is on or off stage, Kevin is dedicated to the Lord at all times. His voice and sound is incredibly unique and with a tremendous anointing.

As a result of his obedience and diligence to the advancement of God’s Kingdom, he has been tremendously blessed by the Lord over the years. Kevin’s first major hit “Naah Bow”, was awarded the 2006 Caribbean Music Awards (Marlin Awards) for Reggae Recording of the Year. He has been a guest performer for the MAJA, Canada’s most prestigious Gospel music awards, and has shared the stage with the likes of Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin, Michael W. Smith, Marvin Winans Jr., Micah Stampley, and Papa San.

Kevin’s album entitled Close To You features 15 tracks, and certain songs such as “Still Stand”, “Shout”, “Nothing Just Happens”, “I Can Feel Your Glory”, “Change Is Coming”, and “Joy” will certainly move you to praising God. The title track, “Close To You”, has received enormous attention both locally and internationally as God has been using this tool to transform lives.

Even though Kevin has been through some tough times in his past, they never did anything but to draw him closer to the Lord. Today he continues to use his experience to help build peoples’ lives reminding them that, as it states in Phil. 4:13, they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them. This vessel is poised for greater heights in God. To God be all the Glory.

Kevin is happily married to Marsha.
