Shane Forrester, Barbados

Musician, singer, prolific songwriter, music educator, producer and instrumentalist, Shane Forrester is a musical all rounder who was born into a family of musicians and exposed to the music industry from an early age.

From his days with the all-male group, “Smooth Boyz”, Shane quickly realized his passion for the stage and performance. He was picked-up by the internationally renowned group, the Troubadours International, who invited him to perform on their tours of Canada and the USA. Shane’s desire and commitment towards the music industry landed him a spot with the band IV Play (later renamed 4D People) in 1995. During his five-year sojourn with the band Shane was featured on all three of their albums and had the opportunity to tour the Caribbean and Europe performing at prestigious events like the Midem musical trade fair in France and sharing the stage with top international artistes such as Boys 2 Men, Beres Hammond, and James Ingram.

Now considered one of Barbados’ best male vocal talents and musicians, Shane is poised to reach higher with the launch of his self-titled album - SHANE. Spanning genres such as, pop, jazz, gospel, and soul plus a touch of old-school classics; Shane’s career has earned him performance slots at Barbados Jazz Festival, the Barbados Gospelfest, and the Ottawa Blues Fest among other internationally recognized music festivals and events. His hit single, “About You” earned a placement on the album of international artiste, Jaicko, with Capital Records.

As Shane’s on-stage persona, musical ability and authentic Caribbean vibe continue to develop and mature, his lyrical depth and infectious melodies are evident on the singles, “Love When You Call My Name,” and “What I’m In For” both of which are currently receiving strong local and regional airplay.
