Pastor John Yarde

John Yarde was born with musical talent, having gifted genes passed on from his mother, Shirley Yarde, former member of the Nazarene Silvertones of Barbados. As a boy, John sang in the Sunday school choir but his real passion was initially found behind the drums. There was never any intention to be any kind of artiste, worship leader or music minister. John simply believed in doing what he loved.

After staying in the United States for 4 months in 2009 and leading worship in his church there, he returned to Barbados and asked if he could lead worship. Knowing John only as a drummer, the initial response was “boy go play the drums”. However, John did eventually get the opportunity to lead worship and he never stopped.

Had John stayed behind those drums, today we would not have been gifted with songs such as Release The Soundz, Nothing Too Hard and Echo. Since then he has graced many regional and international stages alongside regional artistes like Sherwin Gardner, Positive and Isaac Blackman. He was also opening performer for international artistes such as Grammy nominated Pastor William McDowell, Kurt Carr, Mali Music and Martha Munizzi.

John's debut album, entitled 1st John was released in 2017 to "absolutely amazing" response and his first Christmas single, "Caribbean Christmas" also released in 2017, has met with great success.

This singer songwriter has followed in his father’s footsteps and is now the Senior Pastor at the Jackson Church of the Nazarene where he is committed to building and equipping leaders who will have a positive impact on their respective circles of influence.
